OverDrive Media Console with new Gui and Bookmark Sync
OverDrive Media Console is a popular app for on-the-go access to e-books and audiobooks from public an college libraries. According to LibraryJournal, a redesigned version of the app will be released for iOS and Android devices on August 20th.

Changes in 3.0 include: a redesigned user interface, the ability to sync bookmarks across multiple devices, variable speed playback for audiobooks.

I read about that yesterday. No impact on my use of the app. All I use it for is to get Kindle books into Amazon's cloud so I can read them on my Kindle 4.

Is this a real deveice the lady in the video is using? It looks very nice and clean. The german digital library system is not that pleasant for the eye, to say the least.

That'd probably be part of it I'm sure. In a sense they already license it as they use the DRM.


AFAIK no vendor of WMA DRM'd products, not that there are many, offers a way to use them on Android or iOS (or Mac OS for that matter). For iOS/iPod's you can use a combo of Overdrive for Windows and iTunes to transfer & convert most WMA DRM'd books into something that works, but nothing like that for Android. Either way it'd be nice to just be able to download them and listen using an app.

Overdrive couldn't possibly be more awful to use, so anything they do will likely be an improvement.
