As for sshd in diags on the K4: it's unsupported because it's device-specific: it doesn't actually ship on a vast number of devices, and the various quirks of different diags builds make it annoying to universally handle right, while making sure it doesn't actually *break* diags, which we really, really don't want to do, as that's how we can JB the K4.

Which is why there's no Rescue Pack for the K4, and why every mention of SSH on the K4 mentions: forget about diags, install USBNet in main.

There's a fine balance between how much we choose to not explain things in a web-facing documentation, because we *know* some people will blindly follow it, as a simple and easy way to avoid allowing them to shoot themselves in the foot, and having to deal with the fallout in terms of useless support requests that would generate.

I've said it before, but USBNet is a very special beast in that regard, which is why I approach it with a very specific mindset when it comes to supporting it on the forum.

@NiLuJe, fair enough. I can fully understand your point. For now my old K4S got second life as a forecast display and the stock dropbear I opened for WiFi fulfills my requirements.

Cheers

PS.
Most likely I'll go trough the sources
