Will the Kindle App still work on a rooted PRS-T1?

I was thinking of trying to root my PRS-T1 (following the instructions in the wiki), and installing the Kindle Android app.

Does the current version of the Kindle app still work?

You cannot install the Kindle app on a rooted T1. The version of Android the T1 uses is not compatible.

As an alternative, would it be possible to install Firefox 10+ or Chrome 20+ on a rooted PRS-T1 and use the Kindle Cloud Reader?

NOPE! That's an E-Reader Only device NOT a Tablet. Nothing but the Installed OS will work.

Yes but rooting it gives access to the underlying OS. An old version of Android in this case.

I think I'll go ahead and do that, then try some apps and see what works.

UPDATE: So it turned out that the version of kindle app mentioned in the wiki does still work with most books, though a few say a newer version is required.
