When will Amazon update the Kindle Fire ereader?
I am a stickler for customizations. I like lots of fonts and being able to make it just right.
It's strange to me that the ereader that comes with fire is so lacking in features. Maybe it's a feature, not a bug. |

Only Amazon can answer your question. What did they say when you asked them?

Are you writing about the ability to add your own custom fonts?
The Kindle app in Fire OS is very similar to the Kindle for Android app. The latest version is 14.10 released in August 2018 and corresponds to Kindle for Android version 8.10. The feature set is very similar to the Kindle reading apps on other platforms. It lets you choose between a fairly large set of fonts, but does not allow you to add fonts, other than by embedding them within a book. Allowing user installed fonts is a feature only recently added to the latest e-ink Kindle devices. |

Amazon constantly update the fire tablets range., The hardware and the operating system.
So is this a moan about the Kindle book reading app that is pretty instwlled the tablets ? Your title is confusing. Amazon stopped making Kindle fire branded tablets years ago. They make Kindle sink readers and fire tablets. The fire tablet reader app is pretty much the same as the reading app on the e ink kindles.. has the same fonts, dctionaries, fewtures Easy to use. Does the basic things well, but is aimed at mass market, not at users who want to tweak every possible reading setting. If you don't like Amazon's approach, of a a simple ui which is consistent across lots 9f devices, then you can convert your books and sideloaded a different epub app with more below and whistles. Or buy a kobo. Reader or a pure android tablet . |
