Yes, it looks like Penguin ebooks are back, but ebooks from other publishers (including HarperCollins and Hachette) are still not available.
The reason I included that link in my initial post was because I was amused that one of the books affected was their Daily Deal. I assume the reason the price went up has more to do with the fact that there's a new Daily Deal rather than something related to the glitch. |

Well, as far as I can tell, everything seems to be back to normal now. All the ebooks on my wishlist are back to the way they were before. Unfortunately, the prices are all the same, too.
I still haven't found anything that says what happened and I don't expect Amazon will tell us. Oh well. |

People seem to be talking about this just happening to Big Six books. However, while this was happening, I tried to buy an indie small-press ebook, and couldn't download it. Same glitch or a different one - who knows? But an odd coincidence, if so.

The other night, a big national security guy spoke about an ongoing crisis where everyone was blaming everything and everybody.
He said something like this. (A wise man told me once that it is easy to see "malice" everywhere when it might only be "gross incompetence.") |

"Digital Book World has a statement from Amazon: “The Kindle Store is experiencing a technical issue. We’re working to correct it.” According to some reports on the MobileRead forum, users were also unable to download Kindle titles that they’d already bought and titles that they’d added to their wishlists disappeared." "It is also possible, as Nate of the Digital Reader points out in the comments, that non-big-6 titles were affected as well and nobody noticed." |
