I suppose this can be dealt with by saving a temporary copy of the last used match rules and then trying to restore them to the new library. Ofcourse, we face the same dilemma of how to handle errors, which will probably be solved in the same way, only restore if 100% valid. I will look into this for the next release. |

Version 1.8.3
Update: When changing libraries in library compare, restore the last used match rules from previous library if possible (all columns in match rules present in the newly selected library). Fix: Remove invalid locations from saved location list in library compare dialog before restoring. |

You are welcome. May I ask what exactly you are using in the new plugin that was not available before (custom columns - custom algorithms - match by more than two columns)?

At this moment.... nothing as I haven't explored it yet (lose the settings make me cringe, as, when I use it, I make about 5 searches one after other with different libraries but the same settings... you can understand my previous comments). Now, I'll try to improve these searches (inside library too). BTW, thank you for the translations.

Selection of duplicates for removal
In consolidating many copies of my library, I end up with a few thousand duplicate books. Is there a way to easily (i.e. other than individually selection) select all except one copy of each duplicated book for deletion?

Cleanup is always a pain. To bad you did not use tools at hand before consolidation.
Find Duplicate: Library duplicates . compares (source) Library) to Target Preferences Adding Books: Adding actions (tab)Copy to Library rules) |

Also there is caveat about entangled duplicate groups explained in the post. Read that carefully to make sure you deal with these groups (if you have any) manually first. And always when following any tip or advice that deletes or modify books, backup your library in case something goes wrong. It is your responsibility to make sure whatever advice given here does not cause irreversible damage. |

Is there a setting in the updated plugin that will allow an option to move duplicates to a selected location (eg external drive- calibre library name duplicates to remove) rather than deleting them? I am just in the process of installing the plugin and look forward to using the "new and improved" settings.

The option is already built into calibre. Select the duplicates > right click > copy to library (delete after copy).

Sorting groups descending
Hi,
When displaying results by group, and sorting by group size, is there a way of sorting the groups in descending order instead of the default ascending? Thanks! (And thanks for the plugin - it's saved me so much time!) |

No. You can only control the direction of sorting within each group (only if you are using the advanced mode). You cannot control the direction of groups with either mode.
