What to do - need for custom fonts PW3 5.8.9.0.1
Hello Dear All
A friend of mine who's mother language is some strange language asked me if I can do something with his Kindle PW3 (FW 5.8.9.0.1) so that he could see the books titles in his kindle, because now he only have some mysterious symbols. I've done it many times by JailBraking the kindle, installing KUAL and font hacks, but because of the FW he have he is in more risk of Bricking the kindle as I understood and I was wondering whether maybe it would be enough to just update FW to >5.9 sth, where we can natively put our own fonts, but I am not sure if this will work also for the books titles in the main view(the fonts inside the book are correctly displayed)? |

If your friend has not updated the firmware and the device currently runs the factory 5.8.9.0.1 - it is safe to jailbreak it via initial factory firmware 5.8.9.0.1.
Anyway, official update should fix the issue (and make jailbreak impossible). |
