Dumb question: Kindle for PC
When I look at my Kindle Content folder, all the books are named randomly, as in B001JEPF4W_EBOK.prc . This is driving me crazy, because if I want to find a specific book without opening Kindle for PC, there is no way to tell what the files are. So, the dumb question here is: If I rename them to something recognizable by a human, is Kindle for PC going to throw a fit?

No, there shouldn't be a problem. I've even changed the file extension from .azw to .mobi with no problems.
You can do a test by copying one of the book files to your desktop. Rename the copy and click on it. K4PC should open right up with the correct book. |

Yes, to add one more voice to the choir. The naming convention is meaningless to the Kindle -- rename to your heart's content. The meta-data is embedded inside the file (author, title, etc). Of course, if you change the file names, you do mess with the syncing function, and the clips/annotations/bookmarks for that title ... until you re-sync.
