Post Does .EPUB and Adobe Digital Edition supports Audio/Video functionality

Which version of ADE support Audio or Video or text to speach conversion capability.

2. Does ADE supports NIMAS standard if yes, how (any guidelines or tutorial for using creating and reading NIMAS for Adobe digital edition).

3. Is there any Hardware means device begins supporting ADE commercially, has publisher and consumer started using it.

4. Any links and tutorial for audio and video supports.

EPUB standard does not mandate either of these, so you'd be using an extension. The only way to do it in ADE today is to embed SWF file in XHTML (using object tag) - the same way it is commonly done on the web today.

There is support for DTBook mark-up (which is required for EPUB viewer), but only for rendering. Accessibility support is very high on our list, but implementing that it is a fairly big task.

All I can say at this point is "stay tuned".

Don't think we have any yet.

Correct, there's no mandatory support for any audio or video file format yet in ePub, but you could declare them in the OPF file and if the reader support them, it'll work.

Currente ADE is the only real ePub reader available and strictly use SWF for this purpose, but this may evolve in the future.

Concerning ePub adoption: many publishers announced that they'll work with ePub in the future (check the IDPF website or Teleread). On Feedbooks, we've had dozens of thousands of ePub files downloaded already.

while not ADE specific you can check the MR wiki for information on audio. I am trying to flush out audio support for those that need it. I haven't yet attacked the video aspects as this is generally not an issue for the disadvantaged. You are certainly invited to add to the wiki.

You mean you want a way to convert text into spoken word? Sorry, there is no magic program that will do that. If these are public domain books take a look at manybooks.net. They have audio versions of many of the [more popular] books in their library.

Nah, in this case you should check Librivox first: http://librivox.org/

Ok, I should say there is no "magic" way to do it that will create a pleasing human sounding voice with the correct inflections and emphasis during pronunciation.

Yes, text to speech isn't that nice, but the good thing with Librivox is that you can get free versions that are read by a human.

Oh sorry. I assumed that this was some type of text-to-speech app that you were pointing to. I should have followed the link originally.
