Sorry--there is no way at present to specify page numbers relative to the end of the PDF file. It's a good suggestion, though. You can use k2pdfopt with the -i option to tell you the number of pages in the file.

Ask for some help!

I put "-m -j 0 -col 1 -dev kp3 -ws 0.00001 -gtr 0.00001" int addtional options.
Both a and b are split frome one single pdf file.
a1 and b1 are the results.
a1 problem and b1problem are the problems and what I want them to be.

You would think I'd have an option to specify minimum blank gap required between rows of text, but I do not, and -gtr does not help because there is a clean gap between the "lim" and the limit descriptions below. I will consider adding a new option to address this in the next version. For now, you might be able to use the instructions on this help page to avoid specific row splits. I take it you are running on OSX?

Technically it doesn't have options to do this, but you should be able to get something satisfactory. Try this:
k2pdfopt -mode trim -w 9in source.pdf
Make the -w argument whatever you need to add whatever desired blank space you want for the left and right margins. E.g. if the text in your document is 7 inches wide, using -w 9in will add an inch of blank margin on either side.

The link you posted is a result of the output from k2pdfopt, I take it? Do you have a link to the source file (or some pages from it)? The answer is that k2pdfopt cannot re-flow text next to a figure when you specify -col 1. So it is forced to shrink the text next to the figure so that it all fits the width of your device. If you let it find multiple columns, the text size may be more consistent. Or, if you don't want multiple column detection, you can try -mode fitwidth for a more consistent text size across a page.

For that page, you need to extend the range that it searches for columns with -cgr:
k2pdfopt -fc- -cgr 0.5 11.pdf
Use -sm to see how k2pdfopt is parsing the file. You cannot use -cg .05 on this page because it will break the text incorrectly--the default value works better. There may not be one set of settings that works for the entire document, unfortunately. You might like the results from -mode fitwidth better (in terms of consistency, at least, but maybe the text will be too small).

Many thanks Willus for an excellent piece of software I've used successfully for several years.

I have latest version of GUI running in Linux wine on a Chromebook. I seem to be unable to save the settings for my ereader (PB touch Lux 3) when I hold down any of the custom buttons. Although I get the option to save, it never does. I don't recall having this in previous versions. It is not critical but would be useful if I knew what was wrong.

I just tried k2pdfopt v2.42 on both my Windows 10 PC and on CentOS 7 running wine64 v2.0.2. In both cases, it worked fine, correctly saving and restoring the chosen settings. Not sure what might be going wrong--I don't have access to a Chrome book. It might be a permissions issue.

@Willus

I only registered to say THANK YOU for this amazing software! It works like a charm, and I am quite impressed as I've tried at least a dozen different software solutions (including Calibre) and this is the only one that actually works for me.
Many thanks again!

Cheers from Belgium,
Hajdi
