Suggestions for audiobook player for Fire
My family member recently had to stay in a nursing home for a month. I sideloaded some audiobooks onto his Fire (8th gen) and he had a lot of problems with stability. It would keep replaying or not play at all or not remember. Can someone recommend an app that works with the low-end Fire for sideloaded stuff? Several of the android apps don't appear to actually download to the Fire even though you can get them at the Amazon store for free. Streaming from Audible didn't work at all. If I had known what he WANTED to listen to, I could have downloaded stuff in advance, but he couldn't make up his mind. I have no doubt this situation will occur again!

Easiest way around this is to sideload the Google Play store to the Fire so you then have access to the wider selection of apps Google has in their store. It takes about 5-10 minutes to sideload everything you need. |

Thanks. I didn't know about GooglePlay on the Fire. That should help.
