Princess of Amathar -- How much would you pay?
I am working on a new edition of my first book-- tightening up the writing, fixing a few typos, and adding a new cover. The first ebook edition has been selling (slowly) at Amazon for $3.19. I am thinking of lowering the price. What do you think would be an appropriate price? It is a full-lenth science fiction adventure, and I am a relatively unknown author (though hopefully you have checked out my free books "His Robot Girlfriend" and "Eaglethorpe Buxton and the Elven Princess"). In order to keep it available at Amazon, it has to have a suggested price of at least .99, and they would probably lower the list price.

It seems that your eBook is only available on Amazon. Any chance you can get it out there for sale to everyone instead of just Kindle customers?
If you are thinking of lowering the price. $$2.99 would be a good price point as people see it as under $3.00 even though it's just a penny less. Last edited by JSWolf; 06-04-2009 at 12:34 PM. |

Thanks for reminding me! Yes. The plan is to have the new edition remain on Amazon for the Kindle, but to be available through Smashwords in other formats for everyone else. The end price would be the same in both locations.

There's a really interesting blog article here on pricing (and a very uplifting one for those who authors who have access to the Kindle store for their works) http://jakonrath.blogspot.com/
