Question Onyx Boox i62 HD Firefly - can't connect to computer

I received my Firefly yesterday and charged it for the requisite number of hours. When I first went to connect it to my computer, it connected OK, but I didn't realize the default setting had it turn itself off after so many minutes, so the transfer of e-books I tried to do did not work. It created all the files on the internal storage, but they were all 0 bytes. I came back to it to find it had shut down, and tried copying the folder once more. The second time, I realized the power setting needed to be changed, so I switched it to "never" and tried again. Unfortunately, now I cannot get it to connect to the computer at all. It sees the computer and asks me if I want to connect it, I press "Yes", and nothing ever happens on my computer. I am running Linux Mint 13 Mate, in case that helps.

Does anyone have any idea how to make my e-reader connect to the computer again? I haven't bought a microSD card yet because I'm still trying to make sure which kind I can buy (microSD only, or microSDHC, or what? I'd like to get the maximum capacity the e-reader will handle), so this is the only way I'll be able to read anything on it until I get it sorted out--I have a vast library on my computer that I'd like to be able to read elsewhere! Any help or advice will be welcomed.

For some reason, that port just quit working with the e-reader. Switching to another port seems to have done the trick. If anyone does read this, though, what microSD card would you recommend and where to get it? The max capacity possible is what I'd like.

Under Debian, I plug my M92, on the M92's screen I select "Yes". After a while, the internal drive "Boox" and my SD card are mounted.

Check the operations with "dmseg" and "/var/log/messages".

May be, the device is detected, but the partitions are not automounted.

Just as I went to check that (I need to test it because I don't know what all the stuff means in dmesg), the Firefly actually froze. I'm still working on getting to the reset button.

Edit: Now that I got it to reset, I tried again. Unfortunately, dmesg doesn't seem to give me anything about the USB ports. Plugging it in again, the Firefly sees the computer. The computer ignores the Firefly. The last bunch of lines from dmesg are below, but they're not illuminating to me at all.
