Flicker free lightbulbs etc. Is it worth it?
I know a lot of you choose eink over LED screens. What are you using to read the eink with?
Obviously natural light is best but apparently we spend, on average 95% of our time indoors. Replacing ALL the bulbs is expensive at $20/bulb. Is it really worth it? Sent from my HLTE203T using Tapatalk |

The last time I bought 60 Watt equivalent LED "Natural Spectrum" light bulbs they cost less than a dollar apiece.
I switched over to CFL light bulbs many years ago, as my incandescent lights burned out. Now, as the CFLs die I replace them with LEDs -- but the CFLs last a good long time and I still have many working. Overall, I'm more than satisfied. In some installations they just make much more sense no matter what. We have a post lamp by the driveway that was originally a halogen bulb with a dawn to dusk timer. It was a 75 Watt equivalent bulb that used 55 Watts and they would usually last between 1 and 2 years. The LED I replaced it with uses about 8 Watts and has been in there for more than 4 years. I'm happy. For ceiling fixtures that are hard to reach I'd go for the longer life LEDs even if they weren't saving me money on my monthly bill. |
