I realized that the problem only happens to me with books that are not from Amazon. Books converted to azw3 with Calibre.

Just for information (and it's no help to the OP, I know), but every one of the books on my Oasis 2 was sideloaded from Calibre, and the "Time Remaining" feature works just fine. I always have my progress indicator set to "Time Remaining in Chapter".

🤔🤔🤔 and the firmware updated? If it has nothing to do with Calibre, I do not understand what happens

My Oasis is running firmware version 5.9.2.0.1. Is that the latest version? I keep my Oasis in aeroplane mode, so I wouldn't have received a subsequent update if there's been one.

I do not know if it's the last but it's also the version I have in my KO2. 😭😡

I only see two options, reset the kindle (what a horror to have to put all the books back) without any guarantee or wait for a new update to see if it is fixed

Looking for solutions I have found this and it has worked for me:

1 We enter any book and in the menu we select the search (magnifying glass icon).

2 Enter the command: ;ReadingTimeReset

The command is entered respecting the capital letters and the semicolon.

3 Clicking on the search arrow will indicate that you have not found a result.

4 We return to the book and in the lower corner will appear Calculating reading speed ...

5 We continue reading a few pages and after a while we will have the appropriate "Remaining chapter time" again.

I have just spoken to somebody on amazon chat. To solve this, you need to go online on the Amazon account, select 'manage your content and devices'. Make sure the whispersync is switched on (on the computer and on the kindle). If any books have an update, click to update then log out. the update will go across to the kindle, and the time reading etc. will be reset. It is all do do with reading an old copy of the book.

Personally, I prefer the percentage view to time left. The time left is never accurate, nor does it take account of thinking time, or making hot chocolate, or tickling the cats etc.

It happens to me from time to time. Just happened in fact and there was no update to that book. Not a fan of updating my books anyway. Bad experience in the past on that.

I just use that command I can't think of this moment to reset it on the kindle and it works every time. Doesn't happen too often thankfully. I like the time left in book. I use it when there are no page numbers to be had.
