Moved books into collection, still on home page

I recently downloaded a lot of free eBooks from manybooks.net. I wanted to organize them, so I made a collection and moved a few books into it.

However, the books are showing in both the collection AND on the home page. I tried deleting the book to see if there were multiple files, but then it'd delete the book from both. I tried adding books from the collection, and then adding the books individually. They always show on both home and in the collection.

This is a little cluttered and annoying. Any suggestions?

Go all the way to the top of the screen until it highlights the the Showing All line. Push right. Select Collections.

This is the way it works. A collection isn't a folder, it's just a "tag" that's associated with the book. Consequently, if you sort by author or title, you'll always see the book both in the collection AND in the main list.

One tip: start your collection names with an "_" and then sort the books by title. The collections will now always appear at the start of the list.

Hi, when you put something into a collection you are in effect tagging it, it doesnt actually move the file into a folder, so depending on the sort method used, the Kindle will continue to show the file.

Theres a thread here https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=114756 that discussed organising books and collections

If you create exactly 10 collections and either number them or, as Harry suggested, start the name with some form of punctuation or brackets, then sort by 'Title", then at least, only the collections will show up on the first page and books will begin being listed on page 2 and subsequent pages.
