1. Did you use my test case or your test case? 2. Did you test epub2 or epub3 books? 3. Did you repeat the test with epubcheck.jar or Pagina EPUB-Checker? in the meantime, please add/edit the following EpubCheck.json entry: Code:
"clipboard_copy": true,
Also please download Pagina EPUB-Checker and test your book(s) with it. In your next reply please post the following: 1. An HTML fragment that you expect to be flagged by EPUBCheck or a test epub file. 2. The raw EPUBCheck output. 3. The Pagina EPUB-Checker log file (Logfile > Save logfile). EDIT: If the problems occurs on a 23bit machine and you see a Stackoverflow message in the raw output, please change the following line plugin.py: Code:

This is the text from the clipboard:
Spoiler:
I tested both, my epub and your test file, both epub 2. Pagina epubchecker states the divs as erroneous, as well as the span. The log file of Pagina is this: Spoiler:
And the part of the html file is this: Spoiler:
I have no means to create an epub 3. Hope this helps! Edit: After changing the settings in the plugin.py, all the expected errors are shown on my 32 bit computer! So, for this computer, everything is fine again. Remains my home computer (64 bit), where the same issue occurs. Only that I'm off from home again and shall return only at the end of the month for holiday reasons. Thus, for the moment I can't do anything more. Thank you very much so far! Epubcheck plugin says it's okay, errors from validator page
I've installed the epubcheck plugin in my copy of Sigil and checked my book. It comes back with no errors. But when I use the online validator at http://validator.idpf.org/ I get hundreds of errors. Sorting them uniquely, the errors that show up are listed below. Is there a version problem? How can I clean up these errors? Smashwords and Google validators yield similar results.

@joebob2a
1. What tool(s) did you use to you generate the book? 2. Have you also checked your book with the Calibre EPUBCheck plugin and the standalone EPUBChecker tool? Open your book with Calibre Editor, then click Run Check and Try to correct all fixable errors automatically. This should fix some of the problems. |

Scrambled Version
Well, that was an interesting foray into the world of ebook editors and readers! Learning a lot in this adventure. The scrambled version is attached. In the course of adding the scrambler, I learned about Calibre, which is required in order to use the scrambler. It also includes an editor as well as its own validator. So now I'm in a version explosion!
But to keep things simple, the version I'm uploading here was generated using Sigil. Any suggestions appreciated. |

@Doitsu
1. I converted the book from PDF with Sigil. 2. I have installed Calibre and discovered the Epub editor in it and am tinkering with that. Additionally, I uploaded the problematic Sigil version after munging it with the Scramble tool. That post with the attached file is currently awaiting moderation. |

@joebob2a
I'm getting the same results with my plugin and the IDPF validator. |

Perhaps they are running SanityCheck via F7 and not your plugin?

@joebob2a: I'd suggest reconverting the original PDF to epub using calibre and see if you get fewer errors. The layout will be munged since PDF is one of the worst formats to convert from but you should avoid most of the error listings. Last edited by DNSB; 08-19-2019 at 01:33 PM. Two questions: 1) Should that stack size arg be included by default in the plugin? Or somehow get the plugin to detect if only a 32-bit Java is installed? 2) Is it possible to somehow catch the stack overflow error (or any java error I guess) and return some sort of error back to Sigil rather than display "No problems found!"? |

I found a small typo but I'm not sure does it come from Sigil or from the plugin. Just to let you know. Anyway, thank you for the great plugin!

Look in your Sigil plugin directory for the EpubCheck directory. Inside that, you'll find a file called plugin.py. Around line 203 in that file, change Runing to Running. Errors in the translations are left as an exercise for others.
