Trouble starting Calibre on Windows 10
I upgraded from Win 7 to Windows 10 and then upgraded Calibre to 2.44.1 and now Calibre will not start. It is reporting that I´m on XP! (well that was some time ago...) The error message translates to something like:
Error: Windows XP not supported Calibre version newer than 2.0 cannot be run on WinXp... Does anyone know how I can fix this or run Calibre anyway as I´m not on XP... ![]() |

Did you test calibre after the upgrade? It should have been just as it was under Win7 - well mine was.
Is calibre installed in the standard location i.e Program Files if 64 bit, Program Files (X86) if 32 bit? I suggest you uninstall/reinstall latest calibre. You wont lose libraries or settings, but if you're anxious you could do this ==>> How do I backup calibre?. I that doesn't work then post a screenshot of Windows Settings(Win+I)->System->About BR Last edited by BetterRed; 11-23-2015 at 06:23 PM. |

Don't know how to solve the problem, but did you just always update your system? Then maybe windows xp is still somewhere in the boot information of the partition it is installed on.
