Thank you Jessie, this totally made my day! The device is now displaying Chinese beautifully. You guys are truly geniuses! Many thanks to both you and scottjin
![]() For those who are interested: As I've installed the russian version of Boroda 1.05f, I thought it would be safer to flash back to the official version first. The program ran alright (with a little tweak of version number), but the Boroda was still there when the device restarted. So...I decided to go ahead with the Chinese version anyway (not the smartest thing to do). Luckily the system didn't seem to mind and my Chinese books displayed alright. Not what I would recommend people to do though. If you are in the same boat as me, better wait till you are sure there's a way to go back. |

This is SO GREAT, a million thanks!!!
but I found that after using this patch, it's much slower for my PRS 950 to open a regular form ebook except for a PDF. Once I open the book, it turns pages as fast as usual. I know I am asking too much, but I wish there is an improvement in opening speed. Also, how can I restore to my orignal firmware? thanks Again, thanks so much to Jessie102!!! too slow
It takes 5 to 12 minutes to open Chinese UTF8 txt file on SD card.
EPUB files are opened with characters replaced by "?" (question marks) also after a few minutes of thinking. 1) Is this a bug or something wrong with my reader? 2) Is there a way to keep Cyrillic fonts in boroda's version or may be add them now? Thanks! |

Dear Jessie102,
I am using your firmware, which is good for me. but I have some minor problems there. 1. Can't set the clock for CHINA. 2. Can't go to google book store. (I just waited a minute, is it need to wait more?) I have tried to browse the net, there are most of words, which are light dark, which make you hardly to read. Many thanks for your works. |

@lawrence_lau
Got to Hi-PDA e-ink section, find me a font they've made there that you like, and I'll see if I can integrate it into the PRS950 firmware for you. http://www.hi-pda.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=59 |

Thanks Jessie102. I tried it and Korean book titles display nicely.
But all characters in the books are displayed as boxes. Though the Chinese characters (we use Chinese in our language just like Japan) among them can be read nicely. Is there anyway to fix this?? The character encoding is UTF-8. |

Does this work, or is there an alternative process, for the PRS-650?

Hi Jessie102, I just bought RPS950 and installed your package. I loaded one book in Chinese but can only see its title and table of contents in Chinese, all other pages are blank. Do you know why? I can view several web sites in Chinese. The book is in PDF format.
Thanks. -Dan |

hi jessie, is it possible for you to incorporate Chinese fonts into a latter version Boroda, like 1.05m? I've used and loved your hack, but it is not compatible with PRS+, and I am yet to see a chinese hack that works both within books and on the browser. Many thanks for your attention!
