ereolen.dk - spkgi format

Hi,

Here in DK it is possible to borrow e-books.
Unfortunately downloaded e-books are in *.spkg format, which is a ZIP file.
It contains mostly *.xhtml.spkgi files, that is unknown to calibre.

Anyone knowing anything?

I've had a loook at it (I'm danish too, and it kind of bummed me out that they changed the system)

So far, I can see that it's encrypted somehow, as for the encryption-key, I haven't figured it out yet, I don't know if it's personal, or even if it changes per book, but there is a lot of similarities in the files, soo - it SHOULD be possible to decrypt them...

+1 to the above. Please keep us updated on any progress on how to decrypt the .spkgi format.

oh wow, haven't been here for a while

so far, no new luck on this, I've downloaded the iOS app, and even that way through, there's no luck
It decrypts a single page at the time (good luck if you're reading a long book)

There's got to be some way...worst comes to worst a simple script can be written which screencaps and flips the pages, and finishes off by copying the contents to a pdf file.

Any solution yet?

I'm just trying to refresh this thread. Does anyone have any idea about how to solve the problem getting spkgi-files converted into a file that can be read on a Kindle?

Regards (and hopes)

Søren

Hi Søren, I'm sorry, but real life has been a b***h lately, so I haven't been able to find a solution yet
I've tried looking at the files as recieved by both t iPad app, as well as the windows program, and I'm no where hearer a solution today, than I was when I started

I've had a look in the dependencies of stuff, and all I find is some weird propietary encryption, and that's unfortunately not what I need, to be able to decrypt anything

There is however a shimmer of hope (albeit a rather small one)
When you read a page, that page is then decrypted, so - in theory - you could flip through the book, and - manually - copy out every single decrypted page - and it should be possible to run them through calibre and get a readable book out of it - but it's a bit more work than I would prefer to put in to a single book...

oh - and happy new year guys

Hey guys, I'm still following this thread and still interested in a solution. As 0rsted said, we don't really need to break the encryption (although that would of course be the ideal solution), all we need is an automated processes of flipping through the already decrypted pages, screen capping all of them and then bundling all of the caps in a pdf.

The problem is I don't know how to program and thus can't automate the process.

Happy new year.

We actually don't need to screencap anything, we just need to pull the unencrypted files from the temp-folder

Oh, I get it now, I didn't know the pages were stored in a temp folder. So I guess all we need to do is automate the process of flipping through the pages and copying those files.

Which folder do you find the unencrypted files in? All I can find are the temp files in the AppData/Local/Temp directory, and those seem to be encrypted. At least I'm asked for a session key when I try to open them.

On the computer, I find them in the following directory:

C:\Users\My Name\Documents\eReolen\books

Therein lies the cover and the spkg/i format.

Was that what you wanted?

Nope, that is the encrypted file. 0rsted talked about unencrypted files from a temp-folder. Thanks anyway though.
