Japanese using e-paper for evacuation guidance
As one of the highest risk areas for earthquakes, Japan isn't taking any chances. Currently on display at the Toshima Post Office in Tokyo, pedestrians can wonder about a new e-paper display from Toppan Printing Co, measuring 1 x 3.2m with a 240 x 768 pixels resolution. Tech-On reports:

Finally a decent-size e-ink display! But is the resolution reported accurately? I would expect more pixelation.

I just read a newspaper article about a company that has started to produce large e-ink displays for commercial purposes:
http://www.lsid.nl/products/ Oh, I forgot to mention: it runs on 4 AA batteries and will will for several months on one charge... (the article was in Dutch, as it was in our local newspaper, maybe I'll translate it...) |
