Renaming help

I need help renaming files using regular expressions. Not in Calibre, I hate this program. I just want to use a program that understands regular expressions to rename my files after Calibre ruins them when converting.

How do I go from:
BookTitle - LastName, Firstname.ext
To:
Lastname, Firstname - BookTitle.ext

I need the exact regular expression, taking into account both letters and numbers in any field.

I suspect ignorance is the source of your hate. Instead of hating the program it might be best to learn the simple way calibre allows you the adjust the name of any book exported from calibre.

If you want a "not in calibre" solution go to another forum. This is a calibre forum so here is the calibre answer.

Calibre couldn't make this any easier. Calibre allows the user complete control of naming the file while saving to disk via the save template under Saving books to disk.

Coming into a forum for a specific software, mentioning how much one hates said software, how crappy a job that software does and then not asking for help about something very much unrelated, but simply stating that one needs a certain thing because said software is so goddamned awful seems to me to be a very good way of getting help. I'll be sure to remember that when I next need some help.

So tell me, what program have you put together, that many people really like, and distribute for free to people? And what board do you post help on that program, also for free?

Just curious.
