oops
sorry, I wasn't home. A man and a woman drive through the land, but the car runs out of gas. the man tells the woman to lock herself in, close all windows and not let anyone come in the car. the man goes to the nearest gas station, but when he comes back the woman is dead and there is a stranger in the car. what happened if we assume the woman followed his instructions correctly? A truck laden with petroleum slams into the car killing the woman and causing a fire. The stranger is a fireman pulling out her body.

This is a nice, original, and as I stated the question correct answer.
However, it is not the answer I was looking for, the car has not sustained any damage. So SS, you have a choice to make. You either declare yourself a winner, or you try to find the other solution. Something to poder about while lying in the sun... :envy: |

The woman suffocated from lack of oxygen because all the windows remained closed. The woman herself was the stranger. (Perhaps she was a hitch-hiker he had just picked up before running out of gas.)

Maybe the woman, (or the man for that matter), was a hitchhiker and unknown to the other party, and therefore a stranger. Thus, when the man returns to the car, the woman, who is a stranger, is dead. On his return there is one person in the car - a dead stranger, not two - a dead person and a stranger.

it's his wife dead in the car and when she locked herself in she was alone in the car.
oxygen was enough It's a tough one, huh? I pondered on it for a few hours before I came out with the answer. Keep on thinking/sweating, the satisfaction is worth it |

The woman died of natural causes and the stranger in the car was her ghost (that the husband didn't recognize as her).

The woman died in childbirth, but the baby survived?
