Errors with Polish (error code 1) - anyone know why this is happening?

I'm trying to polish some files which I've done before.
Convert works.
Some I don't want to convert to maintain the merge/unmerge status for later.
A merged set could not polish this time because of this error in the other books, but the same merged set polished before.

The error message details are below. Some books say "path..on D:". Then this happened on a different set and said drive E as below.
I don't have a drive D; no flash drives were connected. E is a virtual drive rarely used. All other books have been fine. These books are not new. I just changed some basic tags then tried to polish.
I've restarted and tried again to no avail. The error repeats.

Your books have some absolute paths in them. Polish cannot handle that on windows, since windows does not have a unified filesystem, unless the absolute paths happen to be on the same drive as the calibre temp directory.
