I got Stolen Away but the other one it says not valid. I think you get to pick between them.

Mine went through on the same account. For the second one it was hours later and on a separate computer, but it worked (after failing when trying directly after getting the first).

Anyone think it's odd that they chose two books from the same author for the bookclub promo, one would think they would satisfy more readers if they chose two from different genre's.

One new feature that I hadn't noticed on the kobo website is that there are now facebook comments below the books there are 60+ comments on Stolen Away complaining about the promo choice.

I just tried both, and they worked.

You can try the codes to see if they work without actually going through with any purchases.

I broke down and finally used the 25% coupon for a book I had my eye on.
Alas, my first payment method via credit card, I got a window claiming the transaction did not go through. ("Transaction failed" it said).

So I paid the second way via my pay pal account.
Lo and behold I receive TWO receipts for the same book! One for my credit card and one for my pay pal.

I wrote to customer service explaining what happened and hopefully they will refund one of them.

Has anyone else had this happen to them and did customer service resolve that mistake?
I am a little sad about this, because I would not have done it if I couldn't have saved the money.

Yep I have had it happen and a few others here have gotten similar errors. I have learned with Kobo even if it says it didn't go through wait awhile just to make sure. I had it happen with Paypal a few times.

It can take up to a month or more to get your refund.
