Prada and Prejudice by Katie Oliver is the 1st in her Dating Mr Darcy trilogy of contemporary chick-lit romantic comedies (f/m) which are loosely derivative of the novels of Jane Austen, this installment pitting a beleaguered department-store's heiress socialite against the exec brought in to save her family's company business, free courtesy of publisher Harlequin UK's Carina UK imprint, which exists in some sort bizarre name-copying trademark-diluting parasite universe to the mothership's original DRM-free Carina Press imprint.

We've previously received 2 further titles in the 2nd trilogy, Marrying Mr Darcy, in that giant batch of glitch freebies last year, which actually continue the relationship of the different couple introduced in the 3rd book of the Dating trilogy.

Currently free @ B&N UK, Amazon UK, iTunes UK, and Kobo (available to the UK & EU and also in Japan as well when I spot-checked assorted regional stores). Likely also free at Google Play UK & & EU & Japan.

If it happens you like this one and wish to read more, it looks as though the 2nd in series is currently discounted to just £1.99 in various stores, as are the 1st & 2nd of the sequel trilogy if you missed them earlier.

A little by default, but this gets a few bonus points for trying to follow the cues of one of the enjoyable literary greats as well for inspiration rather than retelling, as also being in a series that regular MR forum-goers may have previously gotten to read part of.
