Covers not showing up
I find some e-readers don't see the cover Calibre sees. So I've gotten into the habit of converting the book I buy to .epub, then opening that .epub with Sigil and adding the cover that Calibre sees. Only *then* to I copy the .epub to my e-readers.
Is there a way to do this from within Calibre? |

Polish works to insert missing covers in AZW3 and EPUB.
MOBI does not support updating or modifying cover images at all. |

It should show up as a button you can add to the toolbar if you go into the option to edit the Toolbar under preferences.

If you already HAD your Calibre install from before a feature (with icons or context) was added, YOU need to modify your toolbars.
CALIBRE won't change an existing tool/menu that has been customized. Preference: Toolbars: <your choice> |

That brings up another Menu/form That is where you configure your toolbars to taste. Have you visited the Manual? http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/ CLI (Command line Interface) Section is near the bottom on the Left |

By default the Polish button is not added to the Calibre's main toolbar. To get this button, go to Calibre Preferences->Toolbars and in the drop down box select the main toolbar. Scroll down the left buttons until you find the Polish Books button and then add from left to right side main toolbar.
The Polish Books button has various options. for the above task, enable the below settings with a check mark. 1. Update metadata in the book files. This setting will update the old metadata inside the book with the new downloaded/modified metadata. 2. Update the covers in the book file. This setting will replace the existing cover of the book with the new downloaded cover. 3. Add/Replace metadata as a "book jacket" page This setting will insert a single or multiple pages of the metadata in a neat tabular form at the beginning of the book. I always keep these three settings checked.[/QUOTE] This is a very fast method for updating the metadata and covers in one or multiple epub or azw3 files. Apply the Polish command to the Epub files and send them to the eReader. Last edited by rraod; 07-21-2016 at 10:42 AM. |

Hardly hidden. That keyboard shortcut is documented is in the keyboard shortcuts section of the manual (there's a link to that section on page 2 of the manual), and it can be seen in Preferences->Keyboard Whilst many things don't have a default keyboard shortcut, most everything has provision for a user defined keyboard shortcut, which can also override the default values, e.g. I have 'P' assigned to Preferences, and Ctrl+P assigned to Polish. As to the Command Line Interface, page 1 of the manual has two links to the relevant section of the manual, Quote:
