Seven Princes by John R. Fultz from Orbit/Hachette is $2.99 at Amazon | B&N | Kobo

Sony's price is still $9.99 at this time, but should drop, and It's $2.24 at Books on Board

Quote:
A sorcerer slaughters the King and his entire court in front of the disbelieving eyes of young Prince D'zan. From that moment, D'zan is driven by one thought - the need to regain his father's stolen throne. The lives of six foreign Princes are tied to D'zan's fate, as he seeks allies for his cause. In a land where Men and Giants battle side by side against ancient monsters and chilling sorcery, only one thing is certain - war is coming. Kingdoms will clash and blood will run. Seven Princes. Seven destinies. All will be legend.

This is the first book in the author's "Shaper" series. The second book Seven Kings comes out on Tuesday, January 15th.

It's been dropped in price for just over a month now, so may not last much longer (and I would not count on Sony dropping, every).

Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold is currently on sale for $0.99 at Kobo (at least in Canada), but not at Sony or Amazon that I could see.

Quote:
A man broken in body and spirit, Cazaril returns to the noble household he once served as page and is named secretary-tutor to the beautiful, strong-willed sister of the impetuous boy who is next in line to rule. It is an assignment Cazaril dreads, for it must ultimately lead him to the place he most fears: the royal court of Cardegoss, where the powerful enemies who once placed him in chains now occupy lofty positions.

But it is more than the traitorous intrigues of villains that threaten Cazaril and the Royesse Iselle here, for a sinister curse hangs like a sword over the entire blighted House of Chalion. And only by employing the darkest, most forbidden of magics can Cazaril hope to protect his royal charge -- an act that will mark him as a tool of the miraculous . . . and trap him in a lethal maze of demonic paradox.

Doranna Durgin

Doranna Durgin has two ebooks free.

Wolverine’s Daughter
Quote:
Kelyn of Ketura.

Daughter of a legendary warrior who left the mountains before she was born. Brave. Strong. Tempered by her struggle to survive in the hostile, craggy Keturan mountains. And plagued by moments of enormous and puzzling clumsiness.

“Find your father,” the local wisewoman tells her. “To find your true self, find the Wolverine.”

Angered by his abandonment, Kelyn doesn’t care about her father–but the lure of adventure in the Out Lands calls to her, just as it called to the Wolverine before her, and she accepts the challenge.

New languages, new weapons. Magic. Witch hunts. The treacheries of civilization. She doesn’t know just how much of a challenge it’ll be.

Touched By Magic: King’s Wolf Saga I
Quote:
One man loses everything to magic–and will do anything to prevent it from taking over his world.

Magic has never been a part of Reandn’s life. Almost gone from Keland when he was born, there is no trace of it left by the time he patrols the Keep lands as an elite King’s Wolf.

Magic has never been a part of Reandn’s life. Until the people under his care start dying. Until the threat extends to his family-and then turns on him. Someone, somewhere, is trying to draw magic back into Keland, and they don’t care what-or who-is destroyed in the process.

And Redliners was excellent IMHO, even as someone who doesn't really go for military SF. Drake does an excellent job delving into the human costs to the soldiers in a compelling way. I'm definitely picking up the second edition for a re-read, so thanks & karma to BelleZora for the heads up.

The first five books of Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series (published by Pocket Books / Simon and Schuster) have been $2.99 each on Amazon (for US customers) for a couple of weeks now and are still on sale, starting with Spider's Bite. (The others are Web of Lies, Tangled Threads, Venom and Spider's Revenge.)

Also in urban fantasy, the first three books in the Horngate Witches series by Diana Pharaoh Francis (also published by Pocket Books / Simon and Schuster) are currently $1.99 each (for US customers), starting with Bitter Night. (The next two books are Crimson Wind and Shadow City.)

Either a new afterword or foreword by the author. I don't remember which.

A largish number of Wizards of the Coast's D&D novels are priced at $2.99 at Amazon right now. Here's the search I used, sorted by price, though you'll probably do better searching on a particular interest. Plenty of Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance among them, although I think their most popular series (Dragonlance Chronicles, say) are not reduced.

I spot-checked a few titles at BN and Kobo without finding any reduced prices.

The first three books in Janny Wurts' War of Light and Shadow series are on sale at Kobo and Amazon (US):

Curse of the Mistwraith $0.99
Quote:
The stunning first volume in Janny Wurts’s epic tale of two half-brothers cursed to life-long enmity.
The world of Athera lives in eternal fog, its skies obscured by the malevolent Mistwraith. Only the combined powers of two half-brothers can challenge the Mistwraith’s stranglehold: Arithon, Master of Shadow and Lysaer, Lord of Light.
Arithon and Lysaer will find that they are inescapably bound inside a pattern of events dictated by their own deepest convictions. Yet there is more at stake than one battle with the Mistwraith – as the sorcerers of the Fellowship of Seven know well. For between them the half-brothers hold the balance of the world, its harmony and its future, in their hands.
The Ships of Merior $1.99
Quote:
Janny Wurts’s epic tale of two half-brothers cursed to life-long enmity continues in this spectacular second volume.

The half-brothers Arithon, Master of Shadow, and Lysaer, Lord of Light, have defeated the Mistwraith and dispersed the fogs that smothered Athera’s skies. But their victory comes at a high price: the Mistwraith has set them at odds under a powerful curse of vengeance. The two princes are locked in deadly enmity, with the fates of nations and the balance of the world’s mystical powers entangled in their feud.

Arithon, forced out of hiding, finds himself hounded by Lysaer and his mighty army. He must take to his natural element – the seas – in order to evade pursuit and steal the initiative. However, his efforts are impeded by outside magical factions, not to mention a drunken prophet sent to safeguard his life, but who seems determined to wreck his cause by misadventure.
Warhost of Vastmark (direct sequel to Ships of Merior) is $3.99 Kobo and $3.69 Amazon.
The rest of the series are either $5.99 or $6.99 each

They are not on sale at Sony. Amazon (UK) has the first two reduced but not the third. I didn't check B&N.

These were originally published in the 1990s. I really liked the story, but wish Wurts used a few less adjectives.
