I still get them but yes, even though we, say setSpellCheckEnable false they still search and report nonsense during each use.

Is that on macOS? I ask because I was getting the warnings on Windows with Qt6.8.2, and on Linux (AppImage with Qt6.8.2) and commenting out the setSpellCheckEnabled(false) lines in WebProfileMhr.cpp quieted them all.

That is on macOS but under the old named profile. Have not tried with the off-the-record approach.

I will test it tomorrow under OTR and will remove the calls to setSpellCheckEnable(false).

Yes, disabling the spellchecking was causing the no dict found warnings under the off-the-record QtWebEngine Profiles!
Such Qt nonsense - if I am disabling spellchecking there will be no dictionaries needed so why print a warnings?! Pushed this to master. |

I agree. Printing warnings under such conditions doesn't make any sense. I think they may have corrected the issue in 6.9, though. I don't recall ever seeing the warning when testing things an Arch (with Qt6.9). With or without the setSpellCheckEnable(false) calls. *shrug*
