I sent you a log via PM - tried everything I could think of first:
1) adb reboot recovery
2) Reformat USB with FAT32 (instead of just FAT)

Still no luck ... getting some kind of update timeout

Perfect! I see that you've added the EE to the starting post. That's great! I have about a 10 hour day at work, but after I get home I'll load it on my EE and write up any issues I have etc.

Is there a prefered process?

Downgrade to 1.6 then use the V1.01.001 as the upgrade? Or just take my current build of 2.2 and apply the V1.01.001?

Figure I got 10 hours to talk about it, might as well get it right

I just went and skimmed through the thread. What procedure? I wasn't able to locate anything. Could be I missed it

yeap. I will come back to you tomorrow with more staff. I am trying to get the first pe back to scratch without much success for the time being.

I just loaded the firmware posted on the first post for the EE as an upgrade to the 2.2 already on the device (the original beta).

After installation (which was a breeze) it installed just fine.

Upon loading it walked me through a mini tutorial on the keyboard and setting up some google features. It failed connecting to google servers. I skipped the setup (yes I'm connected to wifi and can browse the web). After that I went into the contacts or the market and it said that I must setup a google account. I attempt and again it fails to connect. I've turned the wifi off and back on, even forgot the network and re-added it and still nothing.

The only other strange thing is the e-ink said is stuck on the "enTourage eDGe Initializing" screen. I CAN read a book and use the screen normally but when I exit the reader it goes back to that screen.

Other then that it loaded the google apps like normal and they all open without a force close (a problem I had on the xda post I tried). So after I get the google account synced I hope it all works

Any thoughts or fixes?

And useful for all PE and EE users.

To keep it going; so we get a finished, stable, complete system; I am willing to provide an incentive. Only fair, for I am just sitting & waiting...(and using my EE as-is, can't just flip system-software)
Only ONE really works...

Therefore I am offering 50 Euro to 'ptsenter' to finish the job.
Too much? ...don't know.
Too little? ....don't know.
I don't want to 'buy' it, just an incentive.
