Yeah this is why I am willing to give the Fire one more chance, but if this one falls short I am going back to Samsung tablets. I like the ability the Fire gives to have collections for my Audibles but it does not offer anything that accounts for the problems with the slowness when I want to read on my Fire instead of my Paperwhite.

To give you an idea of my library, I have over 6000 books, over 200 collections, over 1200 Audibles with @25 collections of their own (wow didn't realize I had so many Audibles.

The new $49 Fire has ... 8 GB of internal storage. Free unlimited cloud storage for all Amazon content and photos taken with Fire devices. Add a microSD card for up to 128 GB of additional storage.
So perhaps this is the one for you

I want a 10" tablet for watching videos and reading Non Fiction which I have been doing alot lately. I don't think I would pay that price though with the specs it has. I would love to get the 7" in one for hubby he has that KFv1 which is so outdated he can't play anything on it. Right now they are just wishes though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the 7" tablet pop up as a $9.99 doorbuster on Black Friday.

Not on Amazon, but at stores like Best Buy and Staples where they usually have only three to five particular items per store. The usual BF loss leader to get you in the door.

Well, if they do so, that will be amazing.

My issue is not because of what is on it, I have less than 10 books on it at any given time. My issue seems to be driven by what is in the cloud. Either it is the cloud collections which usually change daily, or the cloud books, which again changes daily.

I may seriously consider the new 7" Fire to take some of the load off the much loved iPad.
It would be books only so what sort of battery life would I expect?

My biggest complaint about the 6" Fire is the somewhat poor battery life. (Perhaps my expectations are too high). And according to the comparison chart on Amazon, the cheap 7" one has even less battery life. So as long as you don't mind charging it up at least once a day....
