Amazon poorly formatted titles?
So I've bought two books recently from Amazon...Angle of Repose - Wallace Stegner and Fire Upon the Deep - Victor Vinge.
I'm disappointed because Angle of Repose is littered with typos and errors, probably one serious typo every 8 pages, like the OCR was never proofread at all. Fire upon the deep appears to have the author's original writing notes embedded within the text, so you see "note 30", "note 31" as links between paragraphs on every other page, I can bare focus on the text and can't find a way to turn it off. Are all of the Amazon books I've bought so far are crappy, I mean, I get books from Mobileread and they're perfect...what's the deal, what are other people's experiences? I don't think I'm buying anymore books from the kindle store for awhile... |

It isn't just Amazon, all commercial ebooks are full of spelling mistakes. Being more used to fan-made ebooks, where they are proofed and fixed within a few weeks of "release", I was quite shocked how bad the commercial books are when I bought a few.
