Visually identifying different generations of Kindle DX?

I'm watching on ebay to try and get a good deal on a Kindle DX graphite. I'd like to get the very latest generation as it seems to have the best screen quality.

I believe the latest is the 3rd generation of DX, correct?

Is there a way to figure out if it's the latest version from a picture? Or do I need a serial/model #?

Thanks.

The latest version of the Kindle DX is grey instead of white.
