Interactive links not working in this Epub file

I have a new Study Bible as an epub file. It has links close to some verse numbers which should take you to the study notes. I use the Nook App on my Samsung tablet to read my epub files. The study notes in this Bible suppose to Pop Up on top of the same page that has the link. When you tap the link, it responds as if it is trying do something, and nothing happens. I loaded the same epub file in Google Play Books, and it works there, the study notes do pop up. It seems a setting in the Nook App may be preventing pop ups, and I cannot find it. Help please..
