Disabling .caltrash

I get the idea of calibre-only trash can, but how do you disable it? It only takes disk space and you can recover all the files from the system's trash can anyway.

You cannot recover metadata from the system trash can reliably. And the amount of disksapce used is the same regardless of whether the files are in the system trash can or .caltrash

And if you want to "Disable" the .caltrash, go to the retoring books dialog Delete books > Restore recently deleted books and set the "Permanently delete after" setting to 1 days (this is the minimum value, you cannot put 0)
24 hours is a decent and quick delay (and you can still enjoy the benefits of a restoration if you quickly see your mistake).

OK, so there's no way to disable it.
As for the diskspace my little script deletes everything from temp and trash every time the system shut down (a.k.a. every day )

@alumoi - Currently in source & available next version is a empty trash button. Might be of interest to you.

It's in the sub-menu of Remove Books.

You can now set the trash to delete on close. So you can still get the books plus additional data back, until you close Calibre.
