I'm fairly neutral on the whole subject, although if I'm going to be reading for a very long stretch I have some favorites so I like it if I have a choice. If I'm writing I try to use a common font -- I don't spend a lot of time stressing out over it -- and I really prefer that the reader have a choice. I haven't had a problem with font availability across platforms.
