Pushed updated packages, with FBInk fixes for progress bars on legacy Kindles, and a few KFX fixes in the ScreenSavers hacks, which should hopefully take care of @Ruskie_it's issue without horribly breaking anything else .

Hi NiLuJe,
in your latest build, there's obviously a problem in KUAL Helper's "menu.json" file ... the single quotes around 'KindlePaperWhite4' seem to be not correct - see attached exaple of logfile which is created every time I launch KUAL helper: Code:

@Antinoos: Agh, crap.
Thanks, will fix (of course, I somehow managed to mess up a few c/p strategically placed in extensions I did not bother to test... ). EDIT: That, or gawk is more lenient? Hmm, will have to test that theory... |

The latter, I suppose... I don't use gawk, so the internal interpreter is used - and this seems to be more strict about allowed string delimiters.

it's wired.
The latest Update_fonts_5.16.N_k2_dx_k3_install.bin in the release kindle-fonts-5.16.N-r15585.tar.xz cannot be recognized as update under Serge A. Levin's 0.5.1 jailbreak for Kindle DX 3.2.1.
The old kindle-fonts-5.16.N-k2 in the release kindle-fonts-5.16.N-k2.zip can be installed successfully. But it doesn't work. (Even the "reboot" file doesn't work). It's Serge A. Levin's 0.5.1 jailbreak for Kindle DX 3.2.1. It seems kindle-jailbreak-0.13.N.zip cannot work on Kindle DX 3.2.1. Do you still have time to help? I know they're all legacy... |

Sorry, typo, wired.
Even autoreboot doesn't work, although the Update-fonts_5.16.N_dx_install.bin was updated successfully. Jailbreak 0.5.1 from YiFan was updated successfully. I found lots of successful cases for DXG 3.2.1, but haven't seen one for DX 3.2.1. |

Did you notice the notice (no pun intended) to replace the JB with the one currently found here?

Fixed. Here are the steps for Kindle DX 3.2.1 (upgraded from YiFan's script)
1. Jailbreak with YiFan's 0.5.1. (The only working one) 2. Install Font Hack from kindle-jailbreak-0.13.N.zip. (The latest kindle-fonts-5.16.N-r15585.tar.xz is not working) 3. Extract src/linkfonts/fonts folder from kindle-fonts-5.16.N-r15585.tar.xz, and replace to Kindle DX's /linkfonts/fonts 4. Reboot Last edited by Gaalxy; 12-25-2018 at 12:31 PM. |

Did you un-archive it? Are you using the correct jailbreak? If you have a choice, you must use the one that matches your firmware (K3), not the one that matches your hardware. Last edited by knc1; 12-25-2018 at 01:39 PM. |

Legacy snapshots package cannot be installed through UYK, no matter the JB (spoiler: it's the same key anyway).
Only through MRPI. That's a design decision, to ease packaging, because the "one package per device" rule was driving me nuts, and wastes a ton of space/time/bandwidth. On the upside, that means you don't have to package them for a weird possibly-not-quite-right model to target Frankensteined DXs. Also: No, wrong. Quote:
Also, you can't mix JBs, that's why the install fails, it's a safety feature to avoid shooting yourself in the foot. All of this is explained in detail in the JB thread. Please stop running around doing random stuff like a headless chicken, because you're bound to do something terribly wrong at some point... Last edited by NiLuJe; 12-25-2018 at 02:25 PM. |

The K2 ... K3 archive has not (yet) been converted to a single, universal, install file. So yeah, it is possible to pick the "wrong" JB install file (provided the user does open the archive). |

@knc1: Yeah, the JB itself is still UYK-compatible, because there'd be an obvious chicken'n egg problem otherwise .
