Post, Melville Davisson: The Strange Schemes of Randolph Mason (v1)

Melville Davisson Post is best known for his Uncle Abner stories, but he was a prolific author with several other series crime/detective characters. Randolph Mason appeared in three volumes of short stories as a scheming, shifty lawyer. In the first two, he was busily evading the working of justice; in the third volume he used his talents to correct injustice.

This is the first volume of three.

Am I correct in guessing, based on your username, that these might be pulp stories in the Black Mask/Munsey's vein?

Much more literary, Melville Davisson Post was a West Virginia gentleman. Also the stories are "legal", and the legal citations are given at the end of each story.

My username is sort of arbitrary. I read anything from Defoe to Hiaasen.
