Getting Goodreads into Calibre using import list plugin

Does anyone else do this? I have been doing this for years, but wasn't sure if anyone else does.

Goodreads has a tool that lets you export your library data into a csv file that I edit to import into Calibre using the import list plugin.

Also, there is a small .exe file that you can run the csv export from Goodreads through to get all the listed start and read dates and genres for all your books.

Additionally, you can upload your Calibre Library to Goodreads by doing this process in reverse.

I think I've downloaded once, but not as something I do frequently. The other way (calibre to goodreads), I think I never done it, I use the goodreads plugin.

Have you got a lot of books? If you do, then the plugin isn't very good if you need to upload or sync a lot of bookshelves.

I have got the system down pat, and am even able to get ALL the add, start and read dates, as well as the genres.

It takes a bit of time, but once it's in, then my shelves only need minor upkeep.

I already trimmed (in general), and I upload a book to goodreads as soon as I add to calibre and set the metadata, so there's no problem of bulk update. When I began was in the other sense (from goodreads to calibre, as I had more info in goodreads than in my local database at that moment).
