Errors in epub

I just created an epub file and used epubcheck-1.0.4.

I'm getting the following errors :
  • ERROR: My_epub.epub/OEBPS/content.opf(7): unfinished element
  • ERROR: My_epub.epub: I/O error reading OEBPS/p1.html

Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong??

I've attached the file as well.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is in your content.opf

I thought the problem in p1.html was that you hadn't declared an encoding at the top, but even adding

<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252" />

after <head> didn't fix things. Switching from Windows Latin-1 to UTF-8 does.

I'd strongly recommend Sigil to you - it creates nice clean ePubs.

The OPF file is missing, at least a <language> element in the <metadata>.

I solved the error: ERROR: My_epub.epub: I/O error reading OEBPS/p1.html

All I had to do was replace smart codes by the &#8216; &#8217; &#8220; and &#8221;.

Now there are no errors in the file

Now I am getting a new error.
Looks like the <br> tag is not allowed. Help me regarding this please

In XHTML you have to use <br />
