Animal Stories:Non-Fiction:Adult

Who knows of good animal books; non-fiction, for adults?

My hubby usually

reads technical books, but I gave him my iRiver Story with 'Marley and Me'

and a couple of other animal books on it - now he is hooked. I have kissed

the iRiver Story goodbye, and am scouting around for more books.

They do not necessarily have to be free. I would merely like to have some

recommendations, and whether they are available as e-books.

Cheers

Oh, don't forget Watership Down by Richard Adams, I've also read The Plague Dogs by him and enjoyed it too. I haven't tried any of his other works.

The OP was looking for non-fiction. Watership Down and The Plague Dogs are fiction (but great reads all the same...WD is one of my favorites). Through A Dogs Eyes is also a good one...I've been listening to it in audobook version.

I can also highly recommend "The Hidden Life of Dogs". I read the hardcover and it was both fascinating and touching (particularly if you're a dog lover).
