Dumb PRS-300 question

Please ignore. I RTFM and see that it is charging.

Halp please. I am giving my brother my PRS-300. I haven't really used it much, I got it to read library books rather than on my Kindle. I have what might or might not be the right USB cord. It fits and my computer recognized the PRS-300. But the image on the front of the reader when plugged in is just of a USB cord and the charger light is red. I thought I remembered when it was charging the light was orange. Can anyone confirm if it sounds like my PRS-300 is charging with this cord. Thanks.

No worries. If the light is red, it's charging.

If you activated or registered it (cannot remember which term Sony uses) with your Sony account be sure to de-register it so your brother can set up his own Sony account and register it with that account. With the 300, you need to plug it into your computer, go into your Sony account, and choose to de-register the 300. For some reason sony requires the reader to be connected in order to de-register it.

If you never registered it with your Sony account you can disregard this.
