Calibre LIT to MOBI Fail?

I have a series of books that are in lit format. Calibre is able to convert about half of them.. the other half gets an error while converting. Anyone know how I can get past this? is there possibly another converting program that I can use?

I thought I might as well post the whole details to the error... Hope it helps somewhat to solve my issue.

Try using "ConvertLIT" to expand the LIT to its OEB source, and then "Mobipocket Creator" to convert that to Mobipocket. Both free tools.

Moved to the Workshop forum. This has nothing to do with Kindle.

Sorry about putting it in the Kindle section, thought maybe it had some relevance since I was talking about the format I need for my kindle :P

Anyway, I did what you said. I used ConverLIT to expand it.

I got:
5 blank images that are labeled ~Cover01 to ~cover05
1 HTML document(that when opened is blank o.O)
and an OPF File.

I tried using that Mobipocket Creator but I get this error when trying to create the file.

That typically means your LIT file is damaged/corrupted/invalid beyond the ability of calibre to recover.

As Kovid says, it sounds as if the LIT file is damaged. Does it display in Microsoft Reader as a LIT file?
