I'm reasonably sure neither the bible, nor Mao's little red book originally came in English.... Anne Frank probably didn't write English either, come to think of it.

The top two titles are alike in that only a small proportion of book owners have read them straight through, start to end.
It's perhaps surprising that so many of these books are ones most people who read alot would have no interest in reading -- although almost everyone would have a different not-worth-even-thinking-about list. Last edited by SteveEisenberg; 05-08-2012 at 10:39 PM. |

With the bible, copies sold doesn't equal copies read.

Which book is "Harry Potter" supposed to be? Is it all seven books combined into one? I'm assuming it is, because "The Twilight Saga" is four books, not one.
That seems like cheating a bit, but whatever. Of those books, I've read three (well, eleven if you count all seven Harry Potter novels and count Lord of the Rings as three books, plus "The Da Vinci Code.") I tried reading the Bible at one point because I felt like I should, but that is one boring book. |

Article title says "10 Most Read"
Article content says "10 Most Printed" 10 Most Printed ≠ 10 Most Read |

EDIT: Just read the fine print. It says "printed and sold in the last 50 years." So that doesn't include printed books that are unsold. |

I am a native Chinese. However, I don't believe that Mao is so welcome in the world.

Shouldn't the Koran be in there somewhere - or don't politically correct works count ?
