Nope.

In one case, it's a comment that had a valid topic and purpose, just not this one, and should have been part of (or the start of) an appropriate thread. In the other, it's just a thread trailing off into nothingness (though in response to that post), and certainly doesn't merit a thread elsewhere.

Personally, yes. But the Calibre forum is run by a bunch of guys as if it were their own fiefdom and there's nothing you, or anybody else, can do about it. Hell, they don't even have to be clearly identifiable as Moderators like in every other forum on MR.

Look at the bottom of the Main Calibre forum.

Calibre Mods are restricted from Mod actions in any other MR forum.

What exactly is your issue with how this forum is moderated? Since the forum restructuring some time ago there are separate areas where threads should go, and most of the mod action in here is moving threads into their appropriate forums. How is that "our own fiefdom"?
On a related note: If you have issues with this, do us the favour of voicing them out loud, instead of just complaining in other threads. If you were to state what exactly you find questionable about the way we mod this forum, I'm sure we could have a reasonable discussion about it.

You dont like the way this forum is moderated, do something about it. Spend some time actually answering the questions asked in this forum, redirecting people to resources where they can get help, helping them over their confusions. Once you've done that for a couple of months, I will be happy to make you a fellow moderator of this forum. Then you can run it like your own personal fiefdom too.
