Kindle DX just auto-updated to version 2.3 via whispernet

Does anyone know what is new with version 2.3 of the Kindle DX operating system? My wife's Kindle 2 didn't have an update, so it seems limited to the DX. The screensaver pics include new author portraits. Other than that, I don't notice any change. (I was hopeful for "folders", but will have to keep waiting I guess.)

Perhaps they added in book hyperlink support?

My DX hasn't updated yet. I know that they get all of them updated over a period of a week or so. Sure hope it fixes a few problems I have with frequent rebooting.

I don't believe so. The time comes from the phone network signal.

Seems like you can get the DX to connect to the internet through the USB cable.. this looks very promising (and extremely complicated...I'm going to need some help here)

* Better cropping of PDF files: In landscape orientation, white margins of PDF documents are automatically cropped to maximize the amount of content shown on the screen.
* Option to convert PDF files to Kindle format. If you prefer to have your personal PDF documents converted to the Kindle format (so that they can reflow), type "Convert" in the subject of the e-mail when you submit your personal document to your @kindle.com address.
* View pages longer: We've extended the time before Kindle DX switches into screensaver mode — from 5 minutes to 20 minutes — giving you more time for reviewing your content.

Overall, that sounds like an improvement to me -- particularly the last item which is critical if you want to use the Kindle as a music reader or knitting pattern reader.
