News on Kindle Fire for international users?
Google & Yahoo searches bring up news of the Kindle Fire 7 released for Australian customers in 2016, however this isn't the case on Amazon.com.

I've even contacted Amazon Support & they gave me a vague 'not available' answer.

What's going on? Will it ever be released outside the US?

Gives information on the Fire tablets, but no option to buy. Our access to Kindles is still through local retailers, which do not carry the Fire line. On the regular Amazon site, it seems they wont ship to Australia.

It's odd because good legit sites cited it for a 2016 christmas release, but nothing so far! The Australian Kindle store is hopeless, I use the regular .com store.
