If your getting a password prompt - then you are probably trying to connect to the wrong end of the cable (the pc end address). |

Connect via USB first, then change the password to anything you like:
Code:
# mntroot rw # passwd |

Follow the instructions included in USB Network docs then use an SSH client (OpenSSH, Putty, ...) or telnet to get access to Kindle console.
Did you activate USB Network with ;un in the search bar ? Is the USB NIC properly configured on your PC ? Ah, I understand now, you've managed to change the password but you are not able to connect over wi-fi, right ? Last edited by dsmid; 03-12-2014 at 12:09 PM. |

Edit usbnet/etc/config, and set these parameters like this:
Code:
USE_WIFI="true" USE_WIFI_SSHD_ONLY="true" |

That was a mistake. Revert your config changes and connect via USB first.
Then change the password. Only then configure USB Network to use WiFi. Which SSH or telnet client do you use to connect to Kindle console? |
