Here's the thing. I am perfectly happy with the way the T1 displays my PDF-6", so I have no interest in adding any other reading appk at all. Still I would like to use this alternative homescreen, so I would need some way to just root the T1, without adding anything else and add this single app. Is there a way to do that?

I already have the minimal root set but it already has more than I need. Maybe I have to use that and then uninstall everything?

Thank you for your patience.
The simplest way is to install minimal root, then from the adw launcher uninstall useless applications and then install the new Homescreen.

Then it useful to install bar launcher, (add adw launcher and new home to bar luancher) anbd then set the home to default, so you can launch other home from bar launcher...

For the other question you could use an android file explorer as "ES file explorer" or "Root explorer" to delete files and so books

With my homescreen there is no way to change any of the data. I have made it a "Read Only" app, so you would have to go into the sony default homescreen or use a file manager to delete books.

By making my app "Read Only" it is much safer. if Sony change the database structure in a future update, I wont break anything as I dont try to write any data.

I can add that in the future, but for now we'll need to use Sony's software to make any changes.

Thank you for that! I prefer "better safe than sorry".
Deleting in the Default Home app works, in a way, afterwards calibre wasn't able to read my books.db any more...

Just for your information, I have set up a google code project to host the source code and information for this project.

http://code.google.com/p/sonyprst1home/

please raise issues for any features you'd like to see and any bugs you find.

Is it possible to tag/flag a book?
I mean could I add a tag "read" for a book to sync this tag with calibre?

I'm not sure if you can change tags on the reader and have calibre read in that data.

You will be able to set up tags in calibre and have that information sent to the device where I can read it in, but that will only be once I've got calibre support added.

If I could change a tag on the reader that would be really impressive!
