Upcoming nonprofit requesting for a recipe
Dear all:
We are a Geneva based upcoming nonprofit called 'platform anthropocene'. -- Context -- The term anthropocene informally defines the most recent period in the history of Planet Earth. The vision of 'platform anthropocene' is to develop a not-for-profit information-oriented internet portal, anthropocene.ch, as an authoritative and primary ‘go-to place’ for the extended ‘anthropocene community’. Our thought is to have this available as a collaborative, creative-commons portal. So the portal will be involved in redistribution of information as well as dissemination original content. I am reaching out to you attracted by the extremely fine capability of 'calibre' in extracting & compiling web pages through the 'fetch news' feature. With proper permissions, 'platform anthropocene' seeks to link up and redistribute journals and publications published around the web and would like to adopt the elegant 'recipe' based architecture that 'calibre' follows. This is one of the 'partial' objectives of the platform. We have very limited tech bandwidth at the moment. It would be great if we can have recipes developed for the following three journals -- 01 The Anthropocene Review (http://anr.sagepub.com) 02 Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene (www.elementascience.org) 03 Anthropocene (www.journals.elsevier.com/anthropocene) to fetch the freely available content (paper name, authors, abstract, citation details, full paper whenever available). Is this is valid request? Is this the correct place to be asking. Kindly guide. Thanks and best regards, Amit Batra For platform anthropocene |

Sure.
Anyone can write custom recipes, and contribute them to calibre -- most recipes bundled with calibre are user-contributed. You can also use calibre yourselves to produce premade news ebooks -- calibre itself is open source under the terms of the GPLv3, and the ebooks that it creates are not owned by calibre at all. |

If you are asking for someone to write and share a recipe, that depends on whether any recipe user feels sufficiently inspired to write one.

Dear @eschwartz:
Thank you very much for the encouragement. In deed we are looking for support in form of someone actually writing and sharing the recipe -- not just with us but with the wider community. The project 'platform anthropocene' currently is fledgling and has very low resources and tech. bandwidth at its disposal. A support 'from the community, for the community', will be immensely helpful. Thanks again for your attention. Regards, Amit Batra |
